IT'S MY FIRST TIME. WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?

For your first time, we recommend the following items:

• Comfortable clothes that you can move in

• Socks, if you are using our rental shoes (all climbers are required to wear climbing-specific shoes)

• A water bottle, which can be refilled at our drinking fountain

• Please complete our WAIVER before your visit 

  • All climbers under the age of 18 are required have their waiver filled out by their legal/court-appointed parent or guardian​

 

WILL I BE USING ROPES TO HELP ME CLIMB?

No, Climb Tacoma is a bouldering gym. While bouldering, climbers climb routes on walls that stand between 12-18 feet tall. This type of climbing does not require a harness, rope, or belayer. When the climber falls, they fall onto a padded floor surface.

WHAT IS THE MINIMUM AGE TO CLIMB?

Climb Tacoma has no minimum age requirement to climb. However, all climbers 13 years old or younger must be directly supervised by an adult. An adult may not supervise more than 2 climbers at a time.

DO I NEED TO TAKE A CLASS BEFORE I CAN USE THE FACILITY?

Nope! On your first visit, front desk staff will give you a brief orientation on how to use the facility. Staff are always happy to answer questions about routes and give beta.

HOW LONG CAN I CLIMB FOR/IS THERE A TIME LIMIT?

A day pass is good for the entire day. Feel free to leave and come back, just check in with Front Desk staff upon re-entry.

DO I NEED TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT/RESERVATION?

Nope! Anyone is welcome to drop in and climb during any of our business hours.

WHEN ARE YOUR PEAK HOURS?

• Weekdays: 4-7 PM

• Weekends: Unpredictable

CAN I CLIMB IN MY TENNIS SHOES?

No, all climbers are required to wear climbing shoes on the wall. Anyone without climbing-specific shoes are required to rent shoes ($7).

DO YOU SELL CLIMBING SHOES?

No, we are located down the street from REI.

​

DOES YOUR FACILITY HAVE A LOCKER ROOM/SHOWERS?

The facility has one single-occupancy shower room and two bathrooms! We do not have lockers.

HOW LONG DO YOU HOLD LOST & FOUND ITEMS FOR?

Items in our Lost & Found are held for 30 days before being donated. Be sure to call the gym asap if you believe you might have left any of your belongings behind

CAN I BRING MY PET INTO THE FACILITY WITH ME?

Yes! Please review our Pet Policy prior to bringing your pet in with you.​​

CAN I CLIMB WITHOUT A SHIRT ON?

No, bro.

ARE YOU OPEN TODAY?

Our hours are always 10AM to 10PM on weekdays, and 10AM to 8PM on weekends, with the exception of holidays. See our holiday hours below.
